Cabbage is a leafy Vegetable and an excellent source of vitamins K and C:
Cabbage thoran is made of Cabbage, Grated Coconut and Onion.It is very delicious and easy to make.
INGREDIENTS:
- Finely chopped Cabbage – 1 cup
- Finely chopped Onion – 1 no
- Roundly cut Green Chillies - 6 nos
- Grated Coconut – ½ cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coconut oil - As reqd
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Red chillies - 2 nos
- Curry leaves - A few
- Salt-to taste
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds and Red Chillies, allow to splutter.
- Add Onions and Green chillies , sauté until transparent.
- Add curry leaves.
- Add Cabbage into it.
- Add turmeric powder and salt.
- Mix well, cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Add grated coconut in to it.
- Slow down the flame and let it cook for 2mins .
Recommended Combination: Serve hot with Rice.
